Obituary of Stenson Broaddus

Stenson E. Broaddus, Jr., passed peacefully on May 1, 2019 with his brother at his side.

Preceding him in death were his parents, Stenson, Sr. and Minnie Alta Taylor Broaddus and daughter, Rita Edmonds.

During his 60+ working years, Stenson worked at Rohm and Haas, Metro Corrections and spent the remaining time in the helping profession at many different agencies in Ohio and Kentucky. For 10 years before his illness, Stenson worked as Lead Supervisor at The Chestnut House, a Corrections halfway house transitioning men from prison into public life.

Besides his brother Charles, Stenson is survived by his daughters, Alta S. Broaddus, Lurleen Moore, Jerrye Huber and Karen Cronen; grandsons,Alec Huber and Eric Selby; granddaughter and best friend for 40 years, Ali Abshear. He is also survived by a nephew, James Broaddus (Cassie); a niece, Rachel Broaddus; sister/cousin, Harriett Harrington (Dallas); cousins,Harry and Donna and a special friend, Jane Peters.

A memorial service will be conducted at 7:00 P.M. on June 10, 2019 at Church of the Promise, 1800 Portland Avenue, Louisville, Kentucky 40203.
