Obituary of Michael Louis Davis

Michael Louis Davis, 57, of Louisville, KY, passed away on February 10, 2019. 

Funeral services will be held at 4:00 PM on Monday, February 18, 2019 at Bethlehem Baptist Church, 5708 Preston Hwy, Louisville, KY 40219, with cremation to follow.  Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 PM on Monday at the church.  Neurath & Schoppenhorst Funeral Home of Louisville has been entrusted with the arrangements. 

Michael L. Davis was born on March 13, 1961 in Louisville, KY. He was the fourth of five children. He was the son of the late Johnnie and Betty Davis.

On January 8, 1997 he married Anita C. Anthony. Michael was blessed with three kids from a previous marriage, Candace, Michelle and Michael Jr. He was then blessed with 5 kids Jarrod, Jacob, Julian, Johnnie and Jordan. He has 9 grandkids.

Michael attended Seneca High School and graduated in 1979. He was an athlete in football and basketball. Couldn't tell him he wasn't Swan Davis! He was a United States Air Force Veteran. He was a lover of life and a giver. Michael didn't meet a stranger. He liked to have fun and party but when it came to structure he had a serious side to him. He was close to his friends but had a special bond with Porky, Ronald, Howard Richardson, Speedy, Michael Meriwether, Mitchell McCallister, Gary Watkins and Mark Overall, but he had too many to many friends to mention. Michael, was the GRILL MASTER! At all barbeques and family functions he was the man to go to because he loved to cook. Michael was the jack of all trades. He was a man of many talents and job qualities. He was very proud of the bridge he helped build in Jacksonville, Florida. Michael was known as that cool dude, #1U of L fan and Dallas Cowboys. He opened is home to everybody. You didn't have to be blood to be family. He was a godly man who read his bible, believed in the word, believed in the power of prayer and never lost faith!

On February 10, 2019, he departed this life. He was preceded in death by his parents Johnnie & Betty Davis, his siblings Patti Davis & Steven "Porky" Davis. He leaves to cherish his memories his wife Anita, his children Candace,  Michelle, Michael Jr., Jarrod, Jacob, Julian, Johnnie, Jordan, nine grandchildren, brother Richard Davis, sister Vivian Davis-Sharpe,  nephews, niece, auntie, cousins and friends.
